Is Wireless Internet Reliable?

Unlike satellite technology, we use high frequency radio waves, which are minimally affected by heavy rain or snow. Our wireless network has been designed to provide reliable, high quality wireless connections. By design, weather conditions rarely affect our wireless data network. Reliability wise, our network is as reliable as DSL/Cable, satellite, or dialup.

Is interference a problem?

Cell phones and digital cordless phones running at 900MHZ will have no impact. Our system operates at 5.2, 5.7 and 5.8GHz therefore anything with these frequencies could cause interference, but the network works around this and any effect would not be noticed during usage.

Can my entire network use the one connection?

Yes. Any machine on your network can use the same link simultaneously. One broadband wireless connection can service an entire college.
