Q: Why, when I open Internet Explorer, does it
tell me I have Done an Illegal Operation and Will be shut down?
A: Whenever such a problem occurs it is well past
the time to update your Windows software. These updates are called
Critical updates and is software
that Microsoft offers as a free service to those that have Windows
Operating Systems. To solve this issue, follow what is below:
Connect to the Internet
If you have Windows 98, Windows 98
SE, Windows 2000 or Windows ME click on the "Start" button
on your task bar at the bottom of the screen.
Scroll all the way up. Click on "Windows
Update"
(Or you can open your Internet Explorer, go to www.microsoft.com and
on the left hand side, click on Windows Update.)
Download all Critical Updates
Download the newest version of Internet
Explorer along with any patches offered or service packets
You will be asked to restart the computer.
Click "OK".
Upon startup, Windows may take a few
minutes to update its files so please be patient as this is a normal2
process.
Q: How do I set my Homepage to a certain Page
I always want it to come up to? IE; Yahoo, Google, CyberZone, MSN…
A: This is very simple to do all on your own and it
only takes a few moments of your time. You do not need to be online
at
all for this. Instructions are below:
Open Internet Explorer
Click on "Tools" at the top
Click on "Internet Options"
A popup box will appear and by default
will be on the "General" tab
At the top you will see
an area that says "Home Page" and 'You
can change which page to use for your home page.'
Next to this is a long white box that will most likely have a URL
or website address in it
Simply put your curser in the box,
delete what is there and type in the address you want to set for
your
home page (i.e. www.cybrzn.com or www.msn.com)
Click on "Apply" at the bottom
Click "OK"
Close Internet Explorer, or if
you are online, click on the "Refresh" button
Q: Why, when I open up my Internet Explorer,
does it tell me “This Page is not available offline” or “This
Page cannot be Displayed”?
A: This means that you are not
connected yet and Internet Explorer cannot view any webpages
while offline. To fix this issue (and to have Internet Explorer set
to connect to the Internet when it is first opened), follow the instructions
below:

Click on "Tools" at the
top
Click on "Internet Options"

Default Connection"
Make sure this setting now has a dot
next to it
Click on "Apply" at the
bottom

Click on the "Options" tab
Where it says "Idle time before hanging up:" select "Never"
from the drop-down box.
